spiders and sun visors!

So, I was driving to work the other day, with the sun shining in my eyes.  Do I put the visor down to help me see?  NO!  Why? you may ask.  Well, it seems that I am still paranoid about spiders falling from the sun visor.  Do any of you remember riding with me in Sy50 and I put the visor down and a BIG spider fell on me?  I think that was my first year at BFA.  I remember Clurg and Meghan sitting in the front (Meghan and I screamed of course.)  I know Mok was there because he was arguing with me that I took my hands off the wheel.  (I only took one hand off.)  I had to pull the van over so Clurg could kill it.  haha   It is a bit crazy I know to still be freaked out about that.  I mean what are the chances of it ever happening again?  haha  I think it will always be something that I think about.  Ugh! spiders!

Well,  I hope you are all doing well.  I miss all of you lots.

SURPRISE!!!!

Ok, well, most of you already know this but...  I flew to Germany on Friday to surprise my HBR boys.  It has been so amazing to see them all again.
So, here is what I did.  I only told the Young's, Lauren, and the Howe's. (I had to make sure I had places to stay.)  Lane picked me up and we headed right for the school. It was going to be time for chapel.  I was actually nervous with excitement.  (i know, goofy, right?)   So, I was in the auditorium as they started coming in.  It was a huge hug fest!  I will remember it always.  Especially their faces.  Merrill just kept saying Un-believeable.  Of course that is usually my line.  I am going to be here until the 23rd of Feb.  So, I am looking forward to spending lots of time with everyone.  Especially my boys...........
another funny thing is seeing teachers and stuff.   so many of them do double takes.  i look so normal being here and then they realize that i haven't been here.  it kind of cracks me up.
so, anyway,  that's what's happening with me.  i'll write again soon with more fun things that are sure to happen while I am here.

Funny Memory

Ok, so I was making cookies today.  You know the kind that you cut out into shapes.  And I suddenly remember the last time I made them.  It was last year at HBR for the open house.  We made sooo many.  It was such a mess on the buffet table.  Flour was everywhere.  But it didn't matter because it was so much fun.  Then before clean up.....   Yoshi, Jon and maybe Merrill?  (Thornton were you there too?)  decided that they needed to slide across the buffet table with all the flour on it.   Fun times...

The candy business has been crazy!  I didn't realize how much chocolate people buy at Christmas.  People are so funny.  I answered the phone the other day "Hello Evans' Candy".  Then this lady asked me if we sell books.  I said "No, just candy".  Then she asked me if I knew where she could buy a book on chocolate.  I said "Maybe you could try Borders?"   Then I think about all the times that I probably ask weird questions to store clerks......  Na,.... my questions are all perfectly logical.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas making lots of memories with friends and family.  love ya all....

I returned from Hawaii and quickly put away my shorts and got out my long pants.  Kind of a shock, but it has been beautiful here.  I love the sunny crisp days of Autumn.

Well, I finally started to work.  For now,  I am working at my friends candy store.  So, that means I am making all kinds of chocolate stuff.  HBR boys remember the chocolate pretzels?  That's the place.  It's a lot of fun.  Hard work, but totally stress free.

Ok, so here's something to think about....  I have been challenged again lately to rely on God for my happiness.  I tend to rely on other people and then I am often disappointed.  God won't let us down and He is always there.    A lot of what I am dealing with is missing the dorm life and having people around me constantly.  I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.  I just wanted to encourage you all the way I have been encouraged.

well, i love hawaii. it is beautiful all-the-time. we are living up on this ridge. i can see the beautiful ocean all day. i have been to the arizona memorial and i toured the battleship missouri.  that was so interesting to see. we also took a trip up to the north shore and visited the dole pineapple place and went to sunset beach for a swim. today i went snorkeling.  it was so cool it was like i was swimming in an aquarium.  oh, interesting story, the son who we came over here to give a break to... he told me that he used to live in a cave here. it was like 30 years ago when he left the navy. he worked as a lifeguard and slept in a cave along the beach for like 6 months. isn't that nuts? he cracks me up though. he is a unique one that is for sure. hey, i tried ahi sushami the other night. that's raw tuna. it was actually pretty good....I also want to say to all my korean friends that this is the first place that i have ever seen kimchee in the grocery store.( not josh lee, although that would have been awesome) 3 years ago I wouldn't have known what kimchee was.  how cool is that?....  hey, i enjoyed talking to all you hbr guys the other day.  i miss you all soooo much.
